Certified translations in Berlin
Standard translations sometimes don’t cut it. For example, courts, authorities and notary offices require certified translations from sworn translators. What does this mean?
True and faithful – officially
A sworn (or certified, accredited or publicly appointed) translator has taken an oath at a particular court or internal affairs authority that a translation is “a true and faithful representation” (§ 189 Para. 1 of the German Judicature Act [GVG]) after having proved their specific professional and personal suitability. This oath is valid throughout Germany.
Sworn translators can produce certified translations that contain explicit confirmation of the accuracy and completeness of the translated content
